Gilbert Munoz, EIT joined our MHP team in 2022 as a Design Engineer. In his first couple of years with the firm, he was exposed to a wide variety of projects and played a major role in the efficiency of his design group.

One of his recently completed projects includes the new Target store in El Monte, CA, which involved a seismic retrofit of three existing buildings into one new store. The most rewarding part for Gilbert was working on the project from start to finish and seeing the facility become part of the El Monte functional community.

Currently, he is working on construction support for the Studio Plaza renovation project in Burbank which is a complete redesign of the ground-level plaza. In addition, Gilbert is developing a 3D model for an ASCE 41 Tier 3 analysis of the theater/drama/speech building at Los Angeles Harbor College.

In addition to managing his projects, Gilbert recently became a member of SEAOSC (Structural Engineers Association of Southern California) and is eager to get more involved in the industry’s social aspect and connect with colleagues in the field. Outside of the office, Gilbert enjoys fishing and hiking and has discovered a new interest in golf this year. He is also a huge fan of the World Champion Dodgers!

Over the last two years, Gilbert has shown his eagerness to learn and grow within his role at MHP. Currently, he has an E.I.T. license and has set a personal goal to have his Professional Engineering license before the end of this year.

We are excited about Gilbert’s dedication to his career and look forward to supporting him through the process.
