Nick Coburn first joined MHP in the Summer of 2019 after completing his B.S. in Architectural Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. While studying to get his M.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering from California State University, Long Beach, Nick stayed on board as an intern and joined us full-time as a Design Engineer in February of 2021. Since then, he has received his California Professional Engineering license and has become an integral part of our Design Team as a Project Engineer.

Through his commitment to this role, Nick has helped design multiple steel buildings for community college projects throughout Southern California and has worked on numerous Target programs with major contributions to standard details for non-structural component anchorage. Most recently, he was the project engineer for the Mt. Sac Beach Volleyball Complex and Wildlife Sanctuary Entrance, which completed construction in early 2024. Currently, he is working on the CSU Dominguez Hills Orthotics and Prosthetics building, Marina City Club upgrades, and the City of Beverly Hills Fire Station Expansion.

In addition to managing his projects, Nick is actively involved in Structural Engineers Association of California (SEAOC), SEAOSC (Structural Engineers Association of Southern California) and is part of MHP’s SE2050 Commitment to Sustainability as a committee member. We are proud of the work and commitment that Nick has done thus far and look forward to his many more years with MHP.
