The project consists of a 1,400-seat auditorium building originally constructed in 1929, with a band room addition constructed in 1953. The building is highly irregular with numerous high and low roof areas and a balcony. The project scope includes major modernization of the auditorium, including reconfiguration of the balcony structure. The project includes significant seismic upgrades. MHP completed an eligibility evaluation report and subsequent project application for rehabilitation per DSA procedure 08-03.
